My therapeutic approach
My foundation is person-centred therapy. Together, we draw on approaches that fit your situation and help you move toward meaningful, lasting change.
I am experienced in brief, solution-focused work. Many clients begin noticing useful shifts within the first few sessions, while the pace and length of counselling always remain individual.
What to expect
Our first session gives us time to understand your situation and what feels most important.
We’ll identify goals and agree on an approach and likely number of sessions.
We’ll work at your pace, noticing progress and adjusting as your needs evolve.
Meet Theresa
My career has taken me through community and mental health services, alcohol and drug services, university counselling, Rape Crisis, Victim Support, Family Court and EAP work.
Originally from Ruawai in Northland, I moved to Auckland in 2006 and have practised in Ōrewa since 2019. Family, the sea and mindfulness are central in my own life. I walk the beach each day and enjoy boating, fishing and swimming.
